Biography

Liu Liqiang, Director of the Center for Perineal Plastic Surgery and Gender Reassignment, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Peking Union Medical College, Chief Physician at the Plastic Surgery Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Member of the Plastic Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, Member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), Visiting Scholar at the Plastic Surgery Centers of Yale University, Harvard University, and the University of California, Los Angeles, and Visiting Professor at Medical Tower, Beverly Hills. Invited Reviewer for the American journals Journal of Plastic   and Reconstructive Surgery and Journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

1. Congenital malformations of the urogenital and anal regions (hypospadias, vaginal atresia, imperforate anus), fistulas and sinus tracts after trauma and infection, fecal incontinence, and pelvic floor laxity.
2. Genital reconstruction for true and pseudohermaphroditism and transgender-related conditions, as well as facial contouring and body sculpting after gender reassignment.
3. Repair of traumatic scars and congenital birthmarks on the body surface, with extensive experience particularly in complex disfiguring deformities of the face and perineum.
4. Aesthetic medicine: double-eyelid creation, eyelid bag excision, rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty, rhytidectomy, facial rejuvenation surgery; revision of failed cosmetic surgery; breast augmentation and correction of breast ptosis; liposuction and fat grafting techniques.
